About

Chinonso

Dr Chinonso Egemba is a Medical Doctor and Digital Health Innovator dedicated to building sustainable health systems that save millions of lives daily. Widely known as Aproko Doctor, he leads a unified healthcare ecosystem sitting at the intersection of Technology, Infrastructure, and Media.

As the architect of a Health Edutainment model and Founder of Aproko Doctor Global, Dr Egemba has grown a following of over 11 million people across the world, making him one of Africa's most influential figures in public health. His work in behavioural change communication, ranging from the Netflix feature Strain to the Anthem Award-winning series Healthy Me, No Cap, uses storytelling to dismantle health myths and drive actionable change.

Dr Egemba is also the Co-founder of AwaDoc, an AI-powered medical assistant integrated into WhatsApp. By leveraging the most accessible app in Africa, AwaDoc removes barriers of cost and connectivity, currently serving over 100,000 users across 20 African countries with low-data, multi-lingual medical triage and access to laboratories and pharmacies.
Beyond the digital space, he serves as the Executive Director of the Aproko Doctor Foundation. An initiative which bridges the gap between systemic failure and patient survival. His resilience was tested in 2022 when he underwent brain surgery, an experience that deepened his advocacy for patient-centred care and health equity.

Dr Egemba is a National Health Promotion Champion, appointed by the Nigerian Federal Ministry of Health. His work has earned global recognition from the World Health Organisation (WHO), and BBC, and he continues to lead the charge in fixing healthcare accessibility, proving that vibrant youth culture and serious public health impact can coexist.
