Pitcher Festival Launches the Mansa Honours

As Pitcher Festival prepares for its landmark 2027 edition, the Festival has announced the launch of the Mansa Honours, a new recognition platform designed to celebrate exceptional individuals whose leadership, creativity, influence, and impact are helping shape the future of Africa.
The introduction of the Mansa Honours marks one of the most significant developments in the Festival's history and forms part of the celebrations commemorating 20 Years of Building Talents and a Decade of Awarding Excellence.
For two decades, Pitcher has championed talent development through industry academies, leadership initiatives, professional training platforms, mentorship programmes, and future-focused engagements. Over the past ten years, the Pitcher Awards have established themselves as a benchmark for recognizing excellence in creativity, communications, marketing, media, and related disciplines.
Now, with the launch of the Mansa Honours, Pitcher is expanding that recognition beyond outstanding work to celebrate the outstanding individuals behind it.
Inspired by an Enduring African Legacy
The honours take their name from Mansa, the historic title borne by the great rulers of the Mali Empire, including the legendary Mansa Musa, one of Africa's most celebrated leaders.
Historically, the title represented leadership, stewardship, vision, influence, prosperity, and enduring legacy. The Mansa Honours draw inspiration from these ideals, reimagining them for contemporary Africa and recognizing individuals whose work is creating lasting impact across industries and society.

Recognizing an outstanding agency practitioner whose creativity, leadership, influence, and commitment to excellence have contributed significantly to advancing Africa's creative industries.
The honour is open to leaders from advertising, media, digital, public relations, experiential, and integrated communications agencies whose work continues to elevate standards across the continent.
Mansa of Brand Leadership
Recognizing an exceptional marketer whose vision, innovation, and stewardship have transformed brands, advanced marketing excellence, and demonstrated the power of creativity to drive business growth and societal progress.
The honour celebrates brand and marketing leaders who champion bold thinking, inspire teams, and build brands that create meaningful value.
Mansa of African Impact
Recognizing an individual whose work is contributing meaningfully to Africa's advancement.
Recipients may come from business, entrepreneurship, technology, education, healthcare, sustainability, culture, public service, development, or any field where leadership and innovation are helping create positive change and expand opportunities for Africans.

The Mansa Honours are envisioned as a long-term recognition programme that will continue to evolve in future editions of Pitcher Festival.
